An apprentice may enroll in the program at any time during the year. The school year runs from August through May. If the apprentice enrolls after school is started they will be able to earn on the job training but their curriculum credit won’t start until the next school year. The enrollment allows for the application process to begin so that they can get their apprentice license and work under a licensed journeyman.

What is An Apprentice Plumber?
The State of Indiana defines an apprentice plumber as an individual “who is learning the plumbing trade; and is under the direction and immediate supervision of a licensed plumbing contractor or a licensed journeyman plumber.” Indiana dictates that the apprentice must be licensed to act as an apprentice plumber. In order to qualify to take the journeyman plumber examination the apprentice must provide evidence that the applicant has completed at least four years in an apprenticeship program approved by the State.
